Hesk Fell and The Pike

Thu 27 Jun 2002

Route: Birker Fell road - Hesk Fell - The Pike - contour round the northeast flank of Hesk Fell - Birker Fell road

Distance: 4.75 miles

Ascent: 1,100ft

Time: 1 hour 50 minutes

With: Anne

Notes:

A windy evening.

We followed A. Wainwright's 'Hesk Fell' walk in his book 'The Outlying Fells of Lakeland' [page 140].

There is now a LIVE electric fence running across the northeast flank of Hesk Fell. There was a stile over it on the way up but we did not find one on our return. The result of F&M?
